Jeremy Goldberg (JMG) is the Communications Director for amGLOBAL Consulting. A self-described “connector,” JMG has experience working with NGOs, companies, Governments and private foundations to deliver youth-oriented projects in post-conflict countries like Uganda, Rwanda and Sierra Leone.

At amGLOBAL JMG is responsible for creating a wide new media network for the firm and its clients. He manages the firm’s blog, press, and media strategy – including recently, placing articles in East African Business Week, and AllAfrica.com among other publications. JMG is also involved in the development of the firm’s work with foundations and technology clients, following IT issues related to donor agencies like the World Bank.

Even before joining amGLOBAL, JMG had an interesting career. He is the founder of the Global Youth Partnership for Africa (GYPA), an organization that hosts international youth summits and student exchange programs in Uganda and Sierra Leone. The organization actively uses personal media such as, blogging, pod casting, video, and flickr to connect American and African youth on peace making and development issues.

He also created SLAM AIDS (Students Saving Lives with AIDS Medication), a music and arts tour that mobilized youth awareness and participation in the fight against AIDS. The tour has taken place in 6 US cities over the last 2 years and featured some of the best up-and-coming musical, poetry and dance artists.

As part of his interest in Sports for Social Change, in 2006 JMG helped establish the Gomo Tong Football Club that represented Uganda at the Homeless World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa. The team was outfitted by Nike, featured on BBC Radio and BBC Africa.com, and are now being spotlighted in the documentary film “Free-Kick.”

A graduate of the University of Texas-Austin (2003), Jeremy majored in Political Science with a focus on Latin American politics and a minor in Communications. His interests include downloading music to his iPOD, running and soccer, traveling in Africa, and reading political blogs, Business Week and the Wall Street Journal.

JMG joined
amGLOBAL because he shares the belief that the future of business is in emerging markets, and that for emerging markets to develop the public and private sector must work together. As part of amGLOBAL’s cutting-edge, idea-driven environment, JMG can use his “connector” abilities to help bring new voices, new technologies and new approaches to building socially-responsible business in Emerging Markets.
